Vera Johnson, an artist who prefers working with reclaimed materials, is a teacher and prior permaculture farmer, who relocated to western Maine from Seattle. Her current work primarily consists of copper reclaimed from the Maine Statehouse dome replacement in 2014.
“The landscape is captured in the patina”
Her background includes blacksmithing, silversmithing, welding, ceramic sculpture, and watercolor. They all seem to culminate in the current medium.
