My craft is the art of Scrimshaw, which I have been doing professionally for 47 years. I had a shop in Bar Harbor, The Scrimshaw Workshop, from 1977 through 2017. All of my scrimshaw is engraved entirely by hand and includes men's, lady's jewelry, pocket knives, collectible display pieces, desk accessories and more. My work is done on ancient Mammoth and Fossil Walrus ivory, bone and deer antler. I am proud to say that in my 47 years as a scrimshander, I have never sold a single piece of elephant ivory.
