Stained glass has always interested me. My oldest daughter talked me into taking a Adult Education class 20 years ago and I was hooked.  This first class gave me a taste and more classes followed at Maine Art Glass in Lisbon Falls. After retiring I spent a few years doing restoration work which I loved. I found it exhilarating to work with a 100 year old window.  I would think about the person who created the beautiful window so many years ago, and I’m able to restore its beauty.

About this time Fused glass was becoming popular. A few years later I started experimenting fusing glass. I bought a kiln and started to play.  It’s interesting to see what heat will do to glass. You’re never sure what your going to get once you close that kiln cover. I had some great results and some not so great results. Since then I have discovered strip cutting and draping, none of my pieces are alike. I keeping experimenting with different types of glass, from the traditional to some more modern techniques.  I love it all.

I have lived in Livermore Falls all my life. I have three children,  and 5 granddaughters. I was in Food Service until I retired from SAD 36 as their Food Service Director. My husband and I spend out summers in South Freeport camping at Winslow Park. In my life time I’ve done a lot of different crafts, basket weaving, quilting, knitting and some painting but glass is my love.
