One of the 2018 UCA Scholarships went to Emiliano Flores.
Emiliano took his first art class at Mt. Blue High School. He discovered a skill he never knew he had and began taking more classes every year. Ceramics, painting and drawing were some of the media that became a part of hie everyday practice and he truly enjoyed it. By the time he graduated he had taken every art class his high school had to offer. He decided to pursue a career in the field of art and design and chose Parsons School of Design in New York City.
“After I graduate I would like to work in New York City, as it is one of the best places to work as an artist and designer. Living here is very exciting but very expensive. Scholarships are very helpful and they are what will allow me to continue studying in this top level university and achieve my goal to become a design er in New York City.”
